Happy Spring from your local diaper bank!
Here is a quick update of what is happening this month:
– We just received confirmation that some of our diaper donations made the shipment to Ukraine
for babies in need! 🇺🇦 💙 – Monthly diaper distributions can still be picked up at the Pass It on Store
front in Waterville from 3-5pm Monday’s and Wednesday’s and 9-12pm the third Saturday of the month.
One pack of diapers per family, per month. – Some of the Waterville Students will be doing a group diaper
wrapping on April 19th to help us catch up on wrapping donated diapers. If you know of a group looking for
community service hours, please reach out to us and we can set a date for wrapping.
There are always diapers to be wrapped!! – We are in the process of switching out the winter clothes with
summer clothes. We have already found lots of cute Easter outfits and put them out on display.
Save your money and come on in and find some clothes, and then “Pass It On”!!
We look forward to seeing you, and remember, everyone is welcome!

Just a reminder of the upcoming burn ban this week.
Annual burn ban in effect from March 16 through May 14.
Open burning is the single greatest cause of wildfires in NYS.
Since the spring burn ban was implemented in 2009,
the number of wildfires has decreased by more than 40%.
Watch a Public Service Announcement on open burning and check out
other clips on DEC’s YouTube Channel (leaves DEC website).
When you plan a fire, always check for fire danger in your area on DEC’s online map
(updated every week). Also, local governments may have stricter rules than NYS;
your fire department will have information about local burning laws.

Waterville Pop Warner will be having a Golf Tournament on Sunday July 10th.
It will be a memorial tournament for Ernie Werner who was
instrumental in getting our program up and running.

As we excitedly anticipate to the installation of new carpet later this spring throughout the Reading Room, Children’s Room and office space, we are in full planning. Every shelf and piece of furniture that is not attached to a wall will be moved, most for the first time since the library was built in 2006! So not only are we anticipating the carpet install needs, but if the spaces could use any shifting when we bring them back together. Please share what future needs or wishes you have (that’s how we meet those needs)…WPL is hoping our community can help us with: STURDY, clean box donations, starting now. – Muscle to move shelves, etc. Details TBA once we know when. But if you have teens who need volunteer hours, we will be able to provide plenty of them!
