IN THE MAIL

Thanks to our wonderful community donors, thousands of diapers have already been distributed to little local ones in need! On February 19th from 12-2pm we will be having a diaper drive to keep our mission going. This will be in collaboration with the Waterville Public Libraries “Snow Fest”! Stop by for a day of snow fun and bring a pack of diapers!!
We have several upcoming events planned.
Auxiliary All You Can Eat Breakfast is on February 20. 8-11.
Chicken BBQ on February 23. Chicken halves only.
IMPORTANT CONGREGATIONAL MEETING!!!!!!!
There will be a special meeting on Sunday, February 27, following the service of worship at 9:00 a.m.,
when the Council will present to the congregation a candidate to be our spiritual leader.
The Council, guided by the Holy Spirit, has voted to call Thomas Lawton to our congregation.
He occupied the pulpit twice in December, and has been here every Sunday for the month of January
and most of February. Lawrence Gilley has been sending out his sermons, so hopefully many have been
able to hear him speak. If not, your next chances are this Sunday, the 20th, or the 27th,
when the vote will take place…
We hope everyone will be able to join us for this important decision.
Here is the link to Rev. Lawton’s sermons:

Good afternoon everyone,
I am excited to announce the addition of a new program at the Jr./Sr. High School!
Beginning in March, the Jr./Sr. High will begin hosting a weekly, community-supported
mentoring program for students in Grades 7 through 9. The program is being offered by the district in
coordination with our partner, Connected Community Schools. Ryan Palmer and Miranda Stockbridge of
Connected Community Schools will serve as program coordinators. I am very much looking forward to the
positive impact this program will have on our students, but we need YOU to make this program a success!
If you can picture yourself as a mentor, we ask that you
sign up at the following link: https://nysmentoringprogram.ny.gov/signUp
Additional Details:
The program will begin on Tuesday, March 8 and run until Tuesday, June 21.
Mentoring sessions will occur weekly on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 until 4:00.
Mentors only need to complete a brief application, be fingerprinted, and participate in a brief training.
Training times are flexible and all costs are covered by the NYS Mentoring Program.
If you have any questions about becoming a mentor, please reach out to Ryan Palmer at ryanp@connectedcs.org

Kindergarten Registration

We’ve been listening!
With the wish for Story Hour for those not wanting to go out after nap time, but the hesitancy
for large groups of different people each week, we’re hoping that Story Hour Pods offer
a great option for time we’re in. Groups will be small, with the same kids at each gathering
(don’t worry, it’s ok to miss every now and then too).
Registration and times coming soon.
In the meantime, be thinking if you would like to help us host a pod,
weekly or on a rotating schedule! It just may help us offer them at
alternative times that work better for you!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
We had a couple different celebrations for Valentine’s day this year.
We enjoyed a Valentine’s dance with (Terry Johnson) on Friday and then today
a Valentine sing along performed by our loyal volunteers. We enjoyed delicious cookies donated by
the Reddy family and Valentine’s donated by local schools!
We sure do feel the LOVE this Valentine’s day. Thank you all!
